The Parc Natural of Val d'Herens covers over 440 square kilometres blessed with many natural spectacles where you will find old alpine farm buildings and chocolate box Swiss villages at the edge of larch forests on the slopes where the snow capped mountains peaks meet the clear blue skies. Resorts
Anzére
Located at 1500m - Built amongst ancient pastures and forests the village of Anzére faces due south. Perched on a plateau, in the heart of the Swiss Alps, Summer in the village enjoys a Mediterranean climate and winter snow with blue skies. When exploring the region, one can find primitive rural structures and high altitude pasture dwellings, made of wood and stone.
Evoléne
Located at 1380m - Traditional Swiss resort where you can escape the crowds offers family skiing, snowboarding and many other winter sports including cross country skiing, snow shoe (racquets) and ski touring which are all very popular in this area.
Ovronnaz
Located at 1350m - Just 10 km from the motorway above the vineyards of in the Rhone facing south, the holiday resort of Ovronnaz enjoys a mild climate. The combination of Ski & Spa is a must in Ovronnaz. What could be more pleasant than relaxing in the tingling warmth of a thermal spa after a day's hard skiing in the powdery snow.
Nax
Located at 1400m - This traditional Swiss resort sits above Sion and Rhone Valley, the village has all the amenities you would need, there is plenty to do here both Winter and Summer with many trails for both ski touring and mountain biking. The skiing here is less crowded with amazing views and small traditional mountain cabins serving raclette with a glass of Fendant the local white wine.
Vercorin
Located at 1330m - High above Sierre in the Rhone Valley. This holiday resort in the Valais, between the conservation area of the Rchytal and the entrance to the Val d'Anniviers, is famous for its mild climate. The old houses and barns of this unspoilt mountain village nestle snugly around the Romanesque church tower. The ski area at Vercorin is open from December to April and snow is guaranteed by cannons on 15% of the area.
